Creating a Global Vision for the World Politics

Global politics, otherwise known as world politics or world economics, refers to the field which studies the economic and political patterns of the world. It is in this complex field of study that one can find the relationships among nations, between the global community and between the different political parties at the national level. In the core of this field are the various economic and political processes in reference to issues of national social wealth. For instance, globalization has created new centers of wealth in different parts of the world.

As a result of the globalization, there has been a growing inter-nationalism and greater connectivity among nations. The process has not only increased the global inter-regionalism, but it has also led to the establishment of a new world political economy with a new center of world politics and international relations. Comparative political economy has been one of the most important topics in the field of world politics. Comparative political economy has considered some of the most important issues in international political economy such as national debt, freedom, political systems and stability and prosperity. Thus, this course of study has also provided important insights on how the political systems affect the economic development in the nation.

However, the problem arises when political globalization and comparative political economy do not mesh properly. In this case, there are two main methods to analyze the relationship between these two areas. First, there are the cross-national studies and second, there are the nationally based studies. Cross-national studies usually compare different regions of the world or different countries of the world. It tries to reveal the patterns in which nations develop peacefully along with the problems that they have to face along the way. Comparatively, nationally based studies focus on the macro-level analysis of the growth of nations.

Politics and International Business: With globalization, it is not surprising that business has also undergone significant changes. Business competition has increased with time and a strong international marketing network is highly necessary to survive in today’s world. However, the major issue that is linked with the international dimension of politics is trade. A successful economic growth depends on good trading relations. Thus, those who are involved in political globalization need to understand the trade issues between nations.

Globalization and National Interests: Another important area of cross-national politics is the international dimension of national interests. Some of the cross-national political issues that are discussed widely include national security and foreign policies. It is clear that globalization has changed the way people interact globally. Thus, understanding this aspect of global politics is essential to evaluate the policies that are adopted by different states.

The course on comparative politics and international business can help students understand the importance of the subject. It is an excellent platform to learn the dynamics of globalization and how various political forces are interconnected. Studying international relations via a comparative perspective helps students develop a comprehensive understanding of world politics and how various political forces affect each other. Further, it helps students to evaluate different policy options.
